A guide to add a gift-wrapping service option on your cart page and cart drawer

You have the option to provide a gift-wrapping service to your customers on both the cart page and the cart drawer page of your online store. Offering this additional service can potentially increase your average order value, leading to higher revenue, and enhance overall customer satisfaction.

Create a gift-wrap product

Steps:

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Products.

2. Click Add product.

3. Create a gift-wrap product just as you would create any other product.

4. Make the necessary changes and click Save.

• In the product description section, detail the materials used for gift-wrapping, such as glossy papers or recycled materials.

• Set the desired price for your gift-wrap product. To offer the service for free, set the price of your gift-wrap product to 0.

• Upload an image of the product to visually showcase how a gift-wrapped order will appear.

• For customers opting for the gift-wrapping service, you can charge on a per-product basis by adjusting the product price accordingly.

Ensure your gift-wrap product has inventory included, or adjust the settings to prevent Shopify from tracking inventory for it.

If your store has multiple locations, uncheck "Track quantity" to prevent Shopify from monitoring inventory for the gift-wrap product.

Create a menu

Next, create a menu that points to your gift-wrap product.

Steps:

1. In your Shopify admin, navigate to Online Store > Navigation.

2. Click on "Add menu".

3. Name your menu "Gift Wrapping" to assign the handle "gift-wrapping".

4. Add the gift-wrap product to the menu:

   a. Click "Add menu item", then provide a Name for the link to the gift-wrap product.

   b. In the Link field, choose "Products", then select the gift-wrap product from the drop-down menu.

   c. Click "Add".

5. Finally, click "Save menu".

Once you've done this, refresh your store and check it! 🎉
